What we collect, and what we don't.
Last updated 24 August 2026. This describes how Civilneer handles your account information and the drawings you upload.
Who we are
Civilneer provides software that reviews civil engineering cross-section drawings. Civilneer is responsible for the personal data described in this policy. For any privacy question or request, contact [email protected].
Drawings you upload
This is the part most customers care about, so it comes first.
- An uploaded drawing is written to a temporary working area, analyzed, and then deleted. Deletion happens when you download your results, or automatically when the temporary session expires — whichever comes first.
- We do not keep a copy after that point. There is no drawing archive, no cross-account library, and no browsable history of past uploads.
- We do not use your drawings to train any machine learning model, and we do not share them with third parties.
- We do not retain the original filename of what you upload.
The Security page explains the mechanics in more detail.
Account information
To give you an account we store your email address, a securely hashed version of your password, and — if you enable multi-factor authentication — the credential needed to verify your authentication codes. We never store your password in a form we or anyone else can read.
We also keep a minimal record linking an analysis you run to your account, purely so that only you can open your own results. That record is removed along with the analysis itself.
Service providers
We use a small number of providers to run the service. They process data on our instructions only:
- Supabase — account authentication and the database holding your account record.
- DigitalOcean — the servers that run the application and perform the analysis.
- Cloudflare — network delivery and protection in front of our servers.
- Zoho — delivery of account emails such as sign-up confirmation and password resets.
Cookies
We use cookies that are necessary for the service to function — specifically, to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not run third-party analytics or tracking scripts on this site. The font used across the site is served from our own servers rather than a third-party font provider, so visiting a page does not disclose your visit to anyone else.
Your rights
You can request access to the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and its associated data. Write to [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days.
Depending on where you live you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA, including the right to object to processing and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your data we will update this page and revise the date at the top. For material changes affecting existing customers we will also notify you by email.
